To reduce waste and conserve resources, Aramark Destinations has significantly reduced the use of single-use plastics across our operations. Since 2024, we have eliminated:

Plastic beverage containers
Disposable plastic service ware, including cups, lids, straws, cutlery, takeout containers, etc.
- All disposable service ware we offer is BPI certified compostable. We use reusable service ware when feasible.
Single-use hotel amenity bottles
- Guest rooms now feature bulk dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, soap, and other amenities

These efforts build on earlier initiatives that eliminated:

Expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam products
Single-use plastic bags

While Leave No Trace provides a framework to help us decrease our impacts on the natural environment, some areas and activities have additional considerations. Check out the following for your upcoming trip to Bryce Canyon National Park:

Staying on the designated trails in Bryce Canyon is crucial for both ecological preservation and visitor safety. The park’s unique landscape is susceptible to erosion caused by foot traffic. By adhering to established trails, visitors help preserve the fragile environment.

Bryce Canyon is an International Dark Sky park, which means gazing up at the stars at night is an incredible experience. It’s important to protect natural dark skies and the wildlife that thrive in these settings. When camping or out at night, consider using amber lighting, which is more wildlife friendly.

You may encounter wildlife including mule deer, prairie dogs, and occasionally black bears that call Bryce Canyon home. Never feed wildlife, as it alters their behavior, making them more dependent on human handouts and less able to fend for themselves in their natural environment.

Avoid using single-use, disposable plastics in the park. By opting for reusable alternatives, you’ll help preserve the environment for future generations. Please carry out what you bring on your adventure; and remember every small action counts.

Bryce is a desert, thus, water conservation is important to the area. Avoid running the shower or sink unnecessarily. Reuse your towels to reduce water usage in laundry facilities.
